Adam Hale

Adam Hale just finished the 2010 season with the Lake County Fielders of the Northern League.  He went to the Fielders in a mid-season trade with the San Angelo Colts of United League Baseball.  Adam has spent the last two seasons in independent baseball, hitting .257 home runs and 85 RBI in 160 games over the course of two seasons.

He was traded from Sioux City to Southern Illinois in July 2009 to complete a previous trade.  He hit .222 in eight games in July but posted a .294 average with eight home runs and 23 RBIs in August.  In 42 games with Southern Illinois, Adam hit .243 with 10 home runs and 33 RBIs and a .360 on-base percentage.

Adam was drafted by the Houston Astros in 2006 as a pitcher in the 32nd round (969th overall) out of Texas A&M.  He went 1-0 with a 2.13 ERA and two saves in 17 relief appearances with the Greenville (Tennessee) Astros of the Appalachian League.

Adam makes his off-season home in his hometown of Houston where he graduated from Bellaire High School.  There, he was a teammate of Miners Outfielder Brad Goldsmith.  He attended Rice University from 2004 to 2006 where he hit .252 with 14 home runs and 65 RBIs.  He made 20 relief appearances, posting a 2-6 record and a 5.68 ERA, striking out 19 in 25.1 innings.

Adam finished his college career in 2006 at Texas A&M where he hit .266 with four home runs and 22 RBIs in 43 games.
